As I was riding my horse back towards home one evening, I was captivated by the long shadows of the Arizona Cypress trees extending across the road, contrasting to the warm ochre of dry pasture grass. I quickly snapped a reference photo, and started working on this the next morning as the feeling of that moment were still fresh in my mind.
