Three Little Piggies In Hog Heaven

I am a farmer's wife and love animals, so creating this piece made sense. Also, I have been diving into color theory to improve my art, and I wanted to create this piece as an excuse to experiment with many hues. I enjoy mixing oranges and blues for complementary color purposes- oranges in the sunlight and blues in the shadows. That is what I tried to do in this painting. I relied mostly on Unison soft pastels to apply pigment, but I used harder Pitt pastel pencils to drag the pigment in some places to create hair detail.
