Lavender

I visited a lavender farm in northern Indiana… the fragrance was lovely! Sitting in one of the fields, between the rows of flowering plants, was a basket of harvested bundles left by the busy gardener who had rushed off to help a customer… I wanted to take it home. The rich colors and lush texture of soft pastels made it possible for me to paint the scene that I had seen, capturing its beauty forever. When I look at the painting now, I can almost smell that lovely fragrance again.
