Winter Beacon

I enjoyed the contrasts in this painting - the darkened sky against the light of the illuminated church tower , the warm tones of the street lights reflecting in the otherwise cold snow , the organic hollow shapes of winter trees contrasting with the solid rigid structure of the church , the soft edges competing with the hard and of course the title ' Winter Beacon' providing that suggestion of welcome and safety against the harsh realities of the world
