The Water Fountain

My inspiration came from looking at photos from cherished memories of my children when they were small. This painting is of my son and nephew. I love this memory. I am watching these two little guys trying so hard to get to the water at the fountain. My nephew is standing on the pedal and my son is on his tippy toes, smashing his sunglasses, while trying to reach the water with outstretched lips; just melts my heart. I was driven to create a painting of this fond memory.

I did a monochromatic drawing and many color studies. This piece has a beautiful hot pink underpainting with lush greens over the top. I love how the pink glimmers throughout the painting.
