The Sentinel
This painting was done from an image reference photograph taken at a paint out at the Milano Ranch in Tehachapi, California. After taking the photograph I started a 9x12 plein air paintng. Back at home I decided the plein air painting did not come close to representing the scene that originally caught my interest. I was inspired to complete this studio painting. I painted it on Uart 400 tan paper using a variety of different pastel brands. I used both pencils and sticks.
