An Ocean of Grass

Whenever we visit the Sea Ranch along the Northern California coast I am usually drawn to paint the dramatic cliffs and ocean. This time I was captivated by the vast fields of dried grasses along the Bluff Trail. The undulating waves reminded me very much of the ocean and I was challenging myself to paint a large field of relatively monochromatic color yet create visual interest.
