Thistle

Thistle, Emerging Pastel Artist
Thistle
I live on 20 acres in rural Ohio, and I view my role as landowner more as a steward of habitat for wildlife. I have many beautiful animals and wildflowers, and this thistle is one of many “beautiful weeds” that I cultivate. The gorgeous depth of color of the thistle flower in contrast to the spikiness of the rest of the plant catching the sunlight caught my eye and is what I strove to capture in this painting.
