I'm Just Sunning!!

Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is near where I live and always provides inspiration for paintings. This is a pastel painting that celebrates the first time I saw turtles in the Refuge on my most recent visit. I was inspired to paint this scene because of the way the sun cast highlights on the turtle and the brackish water that was so still it created a mirror reflection of the turtle.
