Tranquil Crossing

Tranquil Crossing, Emerging Pastel Artist
Tranquil Crossing
This is a pastel painting from one of my visits to Oregon to the Japanese Gardens in Portland. The scene is hidden away on one of the paths and evokes an atmosphere of peace and tranquility that I wanted to capture. I used a limited color palette and purposely eliminated all of the people crossing the bridge which would have interfered with the feeling I wanted to convey and take interest away from the focal point bush in the foreground.
