Miles

A commission piece in which the client wanted an "out-of-the-box" portrait of his late Akita, Miles. Through many layers, beginning with the three primaries, I built his portrait up from a toned neutral gray paper to a glowing scene of sunshine. I wanted him to look heavenly, forever basking in colorful splendor. I took special care to vignette his face in this large portrait, with focus fading from his dark face out to the colorful surroundings. The client loved this portrait!
