Pink Roses

I used a variety of soft pastels on Uart Sanded 400 grit board. Who doesn't love roses! The original photo was taken by a friend of mine, Joseph Manzanares. I’m a sucker for flowers, and in particular, close-ups of flowers with blurred out backgrounds. His image, which I have used with his blessings, fit that bill completely. The deep blues and beautiful greens compliment the glorious pink of the roses. It was a challenge getting all the pink tones, but since then, I've added a lot more luscious pinks to my pastel collection.
